Community Counselling Teams
Community Counselling Teams are based in each community health centre. They provide
assessment and counselling for individuals/families/children/adolescents who are
experiencing emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. Counsellors can be trained as
psychologists, social workers or others. Counsellors can also refer people to other
specialist counselling or therapy in and out of the local area depending on the need.
Examples of difficulties requiring counselling include relationship issues, domestic
violence, bereavement issues, child protection, drug, alcohol and gambling problems etc.

drug related problems. Support, information and referral services also available.

This is a community service run by the Dept of Psychology at the University of Western
Sydney. It provides solution-focussed counselling for relationship problems for
individuals, couples, children and adolescents. Areas covered are individual therapy,
marriage counselling, family therapy and couples therapy.

Grief and bereavement counselling is available to people who have experienced any loss
and are experiencing emotional difficulties.

Social Workers
Social Workers at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals assist inpatients, outpatients and
their families and carers with any personal or practical difficulties that occur as a
result of illness, trauma or hospitalisation. This includes crisis counselling,
information, education and handouts regarding behavioural and/or emotional problems in
children and adolescents. Social workers can also assist with referrals to relevant
community agencies.

Lifecare Counselling and Family Services
Family, couple and individual counselling, domestic violence groups "Living beyond
abuse" for women, "Living without abusing" for men, Kids Time group for
