Patients with minor ailments can be treated in the comfort of their own homes. The unit
is based at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals.

Macarthur Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service (PACS)
Referrals will be accepted from medical, nursing and allied health clinicians from
inside and outside the public hospital system, e.g. GPs, paediatricians. Staff from other
agencies e.g. Department of Community Services, also refer children from time to time.
Referrals require a medical review and parental consent on a referral form.
A range of services is available for children with "Hospital in the Home", post
acute care and Chronic and complex needs. Examples include IV antibiotic therapy, IV
rehydration/hydration assessment, immunisations (allergy), oncology support, supportive
discharges and wound dressings. Therapies can be discussed with nursing staff and tailored
to need.

Docfax is an administrative fax letting GPs know of key events affecting patients at
Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. Faxes are automatically triggered when a patient is
admitted, is discharged, dies, is transferred or is born. No clinical details are included
except a diagnosis.

DOCMail
DOCMail is a system which allows our hospital to notify you of your patients' key
movements through their admissions. Movements which trigger DOCmail are admission, transfer
to HDU/ICU, transfer to another hospital, discharge, and death. Messages are only sent if
the patient has nominated you as their GP and they have provided consent for release of
information.
Key Information
Docmail provides the following key information:
- admitting hospital
- attending medical officers
- presenting problem
- admission date
- transfers to a High Dependency Unit, Intensive Care Unit or another hospital
- discharge date
- death
