The Macarthur GP InfoPak - 6th Edition January 2007
The Macarthur GP InfoPak provides information about local community and health services
for general practitioners in the Macarthur area of South West Sydney. The information is
designed to support patient needs and be quickly retrievable within the GP consultation.
In the main it does not contain information about commercial health organisations.
It was originally based on the Community Services Directory issued by in March 2000 by the
Macarthur Aged Care Assessment Team of the Macarthur Health Service and has been revised
over the years from many additional local, state and national sources. This edition has
more than 700 headline items on 57 pages accessable by 864 index entries. While not totally
comprehensive, it has wide coverage of most local and distant community and health
agencies of interest to general practitioners and their patients.
We have aimed to give a brief overview of what each service provides, so that choosing the
most appropriate help is relatively simple. We have also included services that may not be
based locally but are considered useful contacts. Most referrals and enquiries can be made
direct to the community or health services as listed.
The editor is grateful to the staff of the Macarthur Division of General Practice for their
work in revising the InfoPak. In particular, thanks is due to Mrs Amanda Margharitis for all
the tedious hours she applied to reviewing the details of each entry. Also the editor
appreciates the encouragement and enthuiasm of the CEO of the Division, Mr Rene Pennock.
